People can be classified (broadly) into doers and dreamers. Take this like a spectrum or a scale and not as a distinct classification.
Doers/builders are those who go out and do things. It doesn’t matter what it is. They are responsible for the development and progress of our civilization. They move the needle.
Dreamers are also responsible for our progress and development as well. However, dreamers are idea generators, sometimes utopians.
They are mainly planners and or critiques. They are responsible for the mind shift, pushing our imaginative boundaries.
These two groups together, working in harmony, make our civilization progress much faster than if they see each other as opposite sides of the coin.
For the most part, it's the builders that shape the (physical) world. As for dreamers, they shape our thoughts and, therefore, our behaviours.
In the true sense of it, the world is run by doers or builders.
While we can't all be builders, we must endeavour to be doers in our own lives. We might not be builders that run the world, but we should be the ones that run our lives. We should not have others dictate our lives. Society should not decide our defaults.
Remember, it isn’t the dreamers who have good lives - it’s the doers. - Homer Hickam
Understandably, society would decide some defaults, but you should set the most important ones for yourself.
Doings na1 doings. Whether ongoing or completed - Khalil-ur-Rahman
When you do things, do them well because the world has a way of making excuses for people who do great stuff. It is called idiosyncrasy credit.
na is pidgin, it means “is”.
